Tarpeena School gets 75% voting from parents for its closure.

75 % of parents have voted in favor of closing the Tarpeena Primary School due to low student enrollment.According to the Regional Director of Education David Chadwickstudents numbers have been declining every year,this year it declined to 11 and as of next year it will decline even further to 7 students. School is located at 25km north of Mount Gambier in the south-east of South Australia.. Students at the school live within the township and many families have some connections with the timber industry.
